Massimiliano Afiero
Massimiliano Afiero was born in Afragola (Naples) in 1964. He is an information technology teacher, but above all is a passionate researcher of the Second World War, hawing written many articles in major history journal in Italy and abroad. He is among the few italian historical researchers to have interviewed many veterans of Axis units, in particular of the Waffen SS, publishing their previously unpublished stories. He has written an impressive number of books, in italian, english and spanish language, and since 2004 he has been director of several periodicals, both in italian and English, mainly dedicated to Axis formations of the Second World War: Volontari, SGM, Ritterkreuz, Fronti di Guerra, The Axis Forces.
