Condition
Good condition. Blue cloth boards with light rubbing, minor marking and bumping to the corners and spine ends. The binding remains sound and the text block is secure. There is a previous owner's inscription dated 1965 to the front free endpaper together with a small bookseller's label. Several pages contain neat pencil annotations and underlining, and there is some separation visible between the front endpaper and the text block, although the binding remains intact. The book is complete and fully readable, making it a good reference copy.

In Thoughts on War, Captain B. H. Liddell Hart draws together many of his most influential essays on military theory, strategy and modern warfare. Written against the backdrop of the Second World War, the book examines the principles of strategy, grand strategy, tactics, mechanisation, command and the psychological aspects of conflict. Expanding upon ideas that shaped twentieth-century military thought, Liddell Hart analyses both historical campaigns and contemporary warfare while advocating an indirect approach to military operations. A classic work of strategic studies that remains essential reading for military historians, students of war and professional soldiers alike.
