King George's Army: British Regiments and the Men Who Led Them 1793–1815 – Volumes 1–5
By Steve Brown

A monumental five-volume study of the British Army during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, King George's Army combines detailed regimental histories with thousands of meticulously researched biographies of the officers who commanded them. Based on years of original research and greatly expanded from the acclaimed The Napoleon Series web project (2009–2019), this is the most comprehensive work of its kind.

Volume 1 covers the cavalry regiments, including the Household Cavalry, Dragoons and Hussars, with over 1,000 biographies of their commanding officers.

Volumes 2–4 examine the Foot Guards and the 1st–104th Regiments of Foot, featuring more than 3,000 biographies alongside regimental histories, deployments, battle honours and demographic analysis.

Volume 5 completes the series with the Royal Artillery, Royal Engineers, Royal Veteran and Garrison Battalions, while also expanding coverage to the senior political and military figures responsible for administering King George III's army. It includes around 570 additional biographies of commanding officers.

Together, these five volumes provide an unrivalled reference to the organisation, regiments and leadership of Britain's army between 1793 and 1815, making this collection an essential resource for military historians, Napoleonic enthusiasts and genealogists.
