Produced by the Topography of Terror Documentation Centre in Berlin, this volume examines the development of the Nazi terror apparatus from the seizure of power in 1933 through the Second World War and the Holocaust.
The book focuses particularly on the former headquarters complex on Wilhelmstrasse and Prinz-Albrecht-Strasse in Berlin, once occupied by the Gestapo, SS leadership and Reich Security Main Office. Topics covered include the structure of the Nazi police state, concentration camps, persecution of political opponents and minorities, occupied territories, forced labour, deportations and extermination policies.
