Second Hand Original First World War Orders Relating to the 31st Division and Divisional Engineers, 1918

Original collection of First World War military orders relating to the British Army's 31st Division, 31st Divisional Engineers and 92nd Infantry Brigade.

The collection consists of approximately 10 loose typescript and duplicator-produced sheets dating from 1918. Documents pictured include 31st Divisional Engineers Operation Order No. 33 concerning the handover of the Right Divisional Sector of the XV Corps front to the 40th Division, together with 92nd Infantry Brigade Order No. 262 and associated additions and administrative instructions dated 26 June 1918.

The orders contain operational and logistical information concerning field companies, pioneers, reconnaissance parties, engineering stores, transport, ammunition, wire, stakes, mules and assembly arrangements. Some sheets bear contemporary stamps, copy numbers, handwritten annotations or signatures and initials. One document is marked "SECRET".

Condition is fair for its age. The sheets show general age-toning, handling marks, creasing, edge wear, small tears and occasional staining. There is rust staining from an old paperclip and some corners are bent or chipped. The documents are loose and unbound. Please examine the accompanying photographs carefully for condition and contents. The group has not been independently authenticated and is offered as photographed.
