A First World War correspondence archive relating to Captain Guy William Egerton of the Welsh Regiment. It comprises 77 typescript pages of letters dated from 21 January to 29 May 1915, together with 39 original manuscript letters—including originals of some letters represented in the typescript—and five Field Service postcards.

Sent to family members during Egerton’s service near Ypres, the letters offer a sustained personal record of a British officer on the Western Front in 1915. The combination of wartime originals and typescript copies makes the correspondence accessible for study while preserving the manuscript material itself.

Egerton was later severely wounded during the Battle of Loos. Of interest to researchers and collectors of the Welsh Regiment, the Ypres sector and First World War personal correspondence.
