A collection of approximately 100 sheets of typescript copies of letters attributed to Company Sergeant Major Arthur Dean of the 82nd Field Company, Royal Engineers, dated from 3 April 1916 to 21 February 1917. The sheets are held in a spring file.

The photographed letters are headed “COPY” and include correspondence addressed to Dean’s mother from France. The examples shown discuss daily life, work near the line, mail from home and the capture of La Boisselle. An engaging First World War correspondence archive, offered as typescript copies rather than original manuscript letters.
