Second Hand Barbara-Meldung Nr. 46

Issue 46 of Barbara-Meldung, a German-language bulletin devoted to the military history of Brandenburg, edited by Henrik Schulze and published in Jüterbog in 2023.

This issue brings together articles on the history of the Royal Prussian Army and the Wehrmacht, with particular attention to Jüterbog and its surrounding area. Subjects include Paul Biber’s service at the airship base in Niedergörsdorf/Dennewitz, the early development of artillery observation, and Artillery Regiment 65 in Jüterbog. A further article examines a final flight and the aircraft crash of 20 April 1945.

The illustrated pages include historical photographs, family portraits and reproductions of postal markings associated with the airship troops. Cover photographs also show military sites and war graves, linking the historical material with surviving local landmarks and places of remembrance.

A 40-page booklet in illustrated card covers, offering focused regional material for readers interested in Brandenburg’s garrison history, German artillery, military airships and the events of the closing weeks of the Second World War.
