Drawing on the remarkable diary of Rifleman William Tucker, Private Tucker's Boer War Diary presents a vivid first-hand account of service during the Second Boer War. Edited by Pamela Todd and David Fordham, the diary is complemented by extensive historical commentary, maps, photographs, period illustrations and reproductions of original documents that place Tucker's experiences in their wider military context.
Following Tucker from enlistment through the campaigns in South Africa, the book provides an engaging blend of personal narrative and historical analysis. Beautifully illustrated throughout, it is an excellent resource for collectors, military historians and anyone with an interest in the Boer War.
