Good condition for age. Original green cloth boards with black lettering remain clean and presentable, showing light rubbing to extremities and minor bumping to corners. Binding is firm and sound. Internally clean with light age toning and occasional foxing. Previous owner's inscription appears on the front free endpaper. A small section of the gutter between pages has opened slightly but remains secure with no loose pages. Overall a solid, attractive copy of this increasingly collectible Boer War memoir.
