Very Good. Ex-library copy. Original decorative red cloth binding with gilt and black decoration to the front board. Boards remain bright with moderate rubbing and wear to the edges, corners and spine ends. Binding is firm and secure. Internally generally clean with light scattered foxing. All folding maps, plans and photographic plates appear complete and are in very good condition. Ex-library bookplates and ownership markings to the front pastedown and preliminary pages, but with no excessive library stamps throughout the text. A well-preserved, complete example of this increasingly scarce Civil War history.
