An early and increasingly scarce local history examining Leicester's role during the English Civil War. Published in Leicester in 1839 by Combe and Crossley, this contemporary account records the city's experiences during the conflict, supported by period illustrations and a detailed folding plan depicting the military operations against Leicester in 1645. A valuable work for collectors of English Civil War history, Leicestershire history and nineteenth-century local publications.
