William Pickering
William Pickering was born in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, but emigrated to the USA in 1968. Although an electrical engineer by trade, he is a passionate naval historian and researcher who has collected and studied the Wide Suspender Naval Long Service & Good Conduct Medal for over 30 years. Fascinated by the Hunt & Roskell engraving, he hopes to one day retire and publish a book about those men and their fascinating careers.
