T.P. Brewster
Terrence Paul Brewster was born in 1959 and spent the early part of his live in Essex, before moving with his parents to Brimingham, England, where his father was a lecturer at Aston University.
In 1976, aged 16, he joined the Royal Corps of Signals, spending 2 years at the Army Apprentices College (AAC) in Harrogate, England, graduating from the AAC in 1978, as a Junior Sergeant. He would serve in Cyprus, Germany, Berlin and Northern Ireland. Whilst in the Corps, he met and married Elaine; they have 2 sons.
He took his discharge from the army in 1986 and joined the Civil Service. In 1990 he joined the Special Constabulary, serving firstly with Staffordshire Constabulary but subsequently with West Mercia Constabulary, the City of London (also joining The Honourable Artillery Company Detachment of Special Constabulary) and finally Gloucestershire Constabulary, from which he retired in 2014, after accumulating over 24 years of service.
Having been interested in medal collecting since his early teens, mainly to his family name, but on joining the Special Constabulary he began collecting the Special Constabulary Long Service Medal both to United Kingdom Police and to the British South Africa Police (BSAP). He is an active member of the OMRS, a member of the Zimbabwe Medal Society and the BritishSouth Africa Police Regimental Association (UK).
