Roger Wood
Born and raised in Lincolnshire, Dr Roger Wood pursued a career in teaching. Upon his retirement, after graduating from the University of Birmingham with a MA in First World War Studies, he was awarded a PhD thesis from the University of Wolverhampton in 2021. His first publication, The Best of All Appointments: The Evolution of Infantry Brigade Command in the British Army on the Western Front,1915-1918, was based upon his doctoral thesis and was awarded the 2024 Chapple Prize by the Society for Army Historical Research. Roger now divides his time between writing and serving as a trustee and school governor.
