René Chartrand
René Chartrand was born in Montréal and educated in Canada, the United States, and the Bahamas. A senior curator with the National Historic Sites branch of Parks Canada, the nation’s federal park system, for nearly three decades, he was also attached to the Department of National Defence as a staff historian. He went on to work as a freelance historical consultant for media productions and historical restorations of military sites in North America and the West Indies. He has authored over 50 books and hundreds of articles published in Britain, France, the United States and Canada. Sadly René passed away in July 2024.
