Paul McNicholls
Paul’s primary interests have always involved the study of history, though after completing an undergraduate history degree, he worked in the insurance industry for 30 years. After retirement he took up research and writing on a fulltime basis. He is the author of Journey Through the Wilderness: Garnet Wolseley’s Canadian Red River Expedition of 1870 which was published by Helion and Company at the end of 2019. He is also the recipient of the 2021 Howard Browne Medal from the Victorian Military Society. Paul is married with three grown children and two grandchildren. He lives on Vancouver Island.
