Nick Tucker
Nick Tucker was born in Wilmslow, Cheshire, where he attended Wilmslow Grammar School. He joined the Royal Air Force in 1970, and was commissioned into the RAF Regiment, with whom he served in Northern Ireland, Germany, Cyprus, Belize, the Gulf, and the Former Republic of Yugoslavia. Latterly he worked for a number of different companies employed in transport, office furnishings and finally garden equipment. He now lives in Norfolk.
He joined the OMRS in 1992, specialising in collecting medals to recipients with his own family name. Over the years he has written numerous articles on medals and their recipients, with a focus on research, and is the author of In Adversity - Exploits of Gallantry and Awards made to the RAF Regiment and its Associated Forces 1921-1995. He is also the author of the OMRS publication The Ashantee Medal 1873-74 to the Royal Navy and Royal Marines. He is also a member of the Western Front Association and a regional volunteer for the War Memorials Trust.
