David Childs
Following a career in the Royal Navy, David Childs left to found both the Leonard Cheshire Chair of Conflict Recovery and the National Memorial Arboretum before becoming the Development Director of the Mary Rose Trust. He has written extensively on the Tudor and Stuart maritime expansion including Invading America which covers the period leading up to this publication. He was appointed CBE in 2002 and made an honorary doctor of letters by the University of Durham in 2018.
