Alexander S. Burns
Dr Alexander S. Burns is an Assistant Professor of History at Franciscan University of Steubenville. Alex studies North America and Military Europe in the eighteenth century. He completed his PhD under the supervision of Katherine B. Aaslestad at West Virginia University in 2021. His doctoral dissertation was entitled, “’The Entire Army Says Hello’: Common Soldiers’ Experiences, Localism, and Army Reform in Britain and Prussia, 1739-1789.” Alex was honoured to edit Christopher Duffy’s festschrift, The Changing Face of Old Regime Warfare: Essays in Honour of Christopher Duffy (Helion, 2022).
