Decades of Rebellion Volume 2

The Decades of Rebellion mini-series examines the use of air power in multiple armed rebellions, and affairs related to armed strike and armed banditry in Mexico from the 1920s to the 1940s. Also because of its proximity to the ‘Mecca’ of the US aviation in California, Mexican military aviation saw a rapid growth and intensive involvement, and this is the first authoritative and detailed account of its history in this period.

The Volume 2 is providing a blow-by-blow account of the Mexican Air Force in action during the Cristeros Religious War, the Gomez-Serrano Rebellion, the Escobar Rebellion, and the Cedillo Revolt. While often unknown outside the country, these have shaped its future, and are exercising its influence until this very day. Moreover, these decades of small but intensive combat operations not only provided the baptism of fire for many early Mexican aviators, but also played a crucial role in forming nearly all of the commanders that went on to lead the Mexican Air Force during the Second World War.
