Air War over Korea 1950-1953 Volume 2 covers the clashes between the USAF Far East Air Force and covert Soviet forces in the skies of Korea from December 1950 to the end of June 1951, which includes the first battles between the MiG-15 and F-86 Sabre in MiG Alley. This was the period when elite pilots from both sides faced each other – the USAF 4th Fighter-Interceptor Wing and the Soviet 324th and 303rd Fighter Aviation Divisions. The culmination of this period was Black Thursday, 12 April 1951, when MiG-15s attacked B-29s and F-84s, inflicting heavy losses.
Air War over Korea 1950-1953 aims to uncover the truth behind the many legends and myths surrounding the air battles between American and Soviet pilots over MiG Alley through careful research and analysis.
