Robin Schafer
Robin Schäfer is a German military historian and author who specialises in the German soldier's experience from the Napoleonic era to the Second World War. Focusing on personal narratives and the human cost of conflict, he works as a consultant for public institutions and the media. Leading groundbreaking fieldwork he co-founding the award-winning 'Dig Hill 80' excavation which recovered 113 missing soldiers of the First World War. Furthermore, he is recognised for solving the mystery of Waterloo battlefield's missing dead, publishing extensively on the industrial exploitation of human bone from historical battlefields.
