Reason to Revolution Virtual Book Launch - At the Point of the Bayonet
Tuesday 11th May 2021
In two linked events over successive Tuesdays, From Reason to Revolution authors Robert Griffith and Tom Scotland will draw upon their recent new publications to shed light on two overlooked figures of the Peninsular War.
At 7pm (British Summer Time) on 11 May Rob Griffith will discuss Lieutenant General Rowland Hill, whose mild-mannered exterior masked a great deal of skill and resolution. Both of those qualities were on display during Hill’s command in southern Spain during 1811 and 1812 and helped ensure victory at Arroyomolinos and Almaraz. Rob Griffith covers both of these actions in his new book At the Point of the Bayonet and his talk will illustrate the story of Hill’s success with photographs from his visits to the battlefields.
This free talk will be followed by a question-and-answer session hosted by series editor Andrew Bamford, and attendees will have access to an exclusive code providing a discount off the book in question.
This event will be hosted using the web-based Demio platform, for which no special downloads are required.
