This is a first-class new unit history focusing on 156 Parachute Battalion, from its formation in India, service in the Middle East, Africa and Italy through to its epic participation in Operation Market Garden/Arnhem, and its final war service occupying Denmark. The majority of the book focuses on Arnhem, and includes much new information. Also included are extensive appendices including veterans reunions 1945-2006, a nominal roll, list of decorations and roll of honour, besides a huge number of photographs and - very importantly - a large quantity of superb quality colour maps allowing the reader to trace the Battalion's actions.
